FREE BREAKFAST and LUNCH to all students!

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Our kids are our future.  The foods they eat now make a big difference in the people they will grow up to be.  Our school menus have been transformed to fit the USDA guidelines for the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs.  
These changes have given more importance to what we were already doing to provide more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and in general healthier meals. 

For example:
We serve fresh fruits
We serve vegetables of different colors and flavor both raw and cooked
We serve 1% white or flavored, fat-free milk
We have increased our usage of whole grain breads on our menu

We will keep on making changes to meet the guidelines as they change for the benefit of our children's health and nutrition.  These changes will take some time to get used to, so we are working on great ways to get students excited about eating more healthy foods.  
We cannot do it alone.  We need your help to make this a success.  We ask that you encourage your kids to try new foods at home and at school and also join them for lunch or breakfast once in a while at school to try the new menu items.
These requirements will change school meals forever.  We hope to have your support in helping our kids grow up to be strong, tall, and healthy people.
