    The Texas Transition and Employment Guide provides information on statewide services and programs that assist in the transition to life outside the public school system for students enrolled in special education programs and their parents.   • Parental Training Session

    Transitions, unexpected changes in schedules, and tolerance for waiting can be some of the most challenging moments for children with disabilities—and some of the most stressful for families. This practical session will provide parents, caregivers, and supporting staff with proactive strategies to help children move more successfully from activity to activity, tolerate changes in routines and plans, and develop patience during waiting situations at home and in the community. Participants will learn evidence-based techniques, including visual supports, preteaching routines, and reinforcement strategies to reduce anxiety and build greater flexibility and independence for their child.

In accordance with Education Code 37.105, the District has the right to refuse entry to or eject a person from property under the District’s control if the person refuses to leave peaceably upon request and:

  1. The individual poses a substantial risk of harm to any person, or
  2. The individual continues to behave in a manner inappropriate for the school setting after having received a verbal or written warning to cease the inappropriate behavior.
