Healthy Students are Better Learners!
Onalaska I.S.D. School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)
SHACs are in charge of promoting school health. A SHAC is a group of individual’s representative of segments of the community, generally appointed by the school district to serve at the district level. They provide advice on coordinated school health programming and its impact on student health and learning. SHACs also provide a way for schools, parents and community members to get involved with school health-related issues and to ensure that the school district’s health programs reflect local community values.
Healthy Students are Better Learners!
SHACs can help parents and community stakeholders reinforce the knowledge and skills children need to stay healthy for a lifetime.
This group meets 4 times annually. All meetings will be conducted at the Onalaska Independent School District Professional Development Center.
